Best All-Inclusive Resorts in the U.S.
While the U.S. isn’t exactly known for its all-inclusive resorts like Mexico or the Caribbean, we’ve managed to find the best of this rare breed on our travels from coast to coast. Keep in mind that things in the United States are a little different, though, and most all-inclusive packages in the U.S. exclude alcohol. However, from wellness resorts in Arizona to woodland lodges in North Carolina, there are great options for families, couples, and any traveler looking to have a hassle-free vacation without leaving the country. Read on for our favorites.
Miraval Arizona

Amid the rugged beauty of the Sonoran Desert, the Miraval Resort outside of Tucson, Arizona is a posh wellness oasis that's especially known for the Miraval Spa. This is the kind of place where recharging actually feels like full-blown pampering, and guests choose from a weekly catalogue of 120 fitness and yoga classes, outdoor activities, and workshops. You'll find three swimming pools, a beautiful spa, and modern gym as well. All-inclusive rates vary, though the most premium include lodging, all meals, snacks, smoothies, and non-alcoholic drinks. The 118 rooms and suites are luxurious retreats, and many feature huge terraces, private plunge pools, and panoramic desert views. Even if you don't need a wellness re-set, this resort is a special place for travelers looking to splurge.
Travaasa Hana, Maui

Easily one of the most popular resorts in Maui, the Travaasa Hana is like a world unto itself, overlooking Hana Bay along Maui's secluded east coast. The list of amenities here is long, and include the stunning Travaasa Hana spa and gorgeous wedding venues, along with a beautiful ocean view pool and hot tub, tennis, and a number of other outdoor activities. Rooms are large and sharp, though you won't find any modern world trappings like TVs or radios. Upgrading to the Total Travaasa all-inclusive package includes three meals daily, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages, plus a hefty resort credit per person per day, which can be used toward spa treatments and private classes. Once you're here, that extra investment will be worth it, as the uncrowded, blissfully edenic property is one of the best hotels in Hawaii.
Blackberry Farm
Walland, Tennessee, United States
True to its name, Blackberry Farm in the hills of Walland, Tennessee is a beautiful working farm hotel with a secluded, serene setting. The property especially appeals to foodies and nature lovers, and the massive 4,200-acre property have stunning mountain views all around. Blackberry Farm's restaurant The Barn offers a true farm-to-table dining experience as a majority of the produce is picked from the property's garden. There's also a stunning, tranquil spa and two pools that visitors can enjoy. Lodging options at Blackberry Farm range from luxurious cottages to charming rooms in the farmhouse. All-inclusive packages include meals and access to stocked pantries, though spa treatments, alcohol, and certain activities will cost extra and add up quickly.
Lake Austin Spa Resort

The 40-room Lake Austin Spa Resort is sharp and intimate spa and wellness retreat on 19 lakeside acres. With its handsome, modern style, the hotel focuses less on design and more on extras, including three lovely pools (one of which is a Pool Barn) and a plethora of water activities on Lake Austin. There are a range of 20 different activities and classes included in rates, plus special events and lectures and free access to the relaxation areas, steam rooms, and saunas in the spa. Upgraded packages include spa treatment credits as well. The hotel's restaurant plates delicious spa fare sourced from the hotel's organic garden, and all meals, coffee, tea, and lemonades are included in rates. Keep in mind that hard liquor isn't served at the Lake Austin Spa Resort, and both wine and beer will cost extra.
Grand Hotel
Mackinac Island, Upper Peninsula, Michigan, United States
Classic elegance and deep history (plus some major Hollywood cameos) are a major draw at Mackinac Island’s, Grand Hotel. Built in 1887, the property is a destination in its own right, but there are special perks here for those choosing to spend the night. Grand Hotel rates certainly aren't cheap, and there is a formal dress code for dining in the Grand Hotel's dining room, but that level of class only adds to the exclusive and storied air here. All-inclusive rates -- known as the Full American Plan -- cover breakfast, lunch buffets, and formal dinners, but no drinks. Other amenities include a pool, golf, and children's activities in the summer. You'll do wise to book well in advance here, as rooms sell out incredibly far in advance for peak season.
Tanque Verde Ranch
Tucson, Arizona, United States
Tanque Verde Ranch -- a classic dude ranch near Tucson with an upscale twist -- might just be one of the most well-known resorts in the desert southwest. And there's a reason for that: This rustic, all-inclusive resort is surrounded by miles of gorgeous mountains and desert, and has plenty to do for couples, families, and travelers of all ages. The property borders Saguaro National Park East, where guests can enjoy guided horseback rides, mountain biking, and hiking, while on-site there's swimming and spa treatments at La Sonora Spa. While you won't find TVs in the room, there is Wi-Fi, but the point here is to unplug and reconnect. Rates include three meals, twice-weekly guided horseback rides, entertainment on select nights, cookouts, children's activities, and round-trip transportation to Tucson's airport. Spa treatments and alcohol will cost extra.
Sirata Beach Resort
St. Pete Beach, Florida, United States
It's a rare gem of a resort in the continental U.S. that includes booze in its all-inclusive packages, but the Sirata Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach does just that. This 382-room property has direct access to the soft white sand of St. Pete Beach and many rooms have excellent views of the Gulf of Mexico. The rates can be a bargain, relative to nightly costs at some of the more popular all-inclusives in the Caribbean, and a recent refresh that wrapped up in 2018 means that the property is looking better than ever. You'll score well drinks, soft drinks, and three meals with all-inclusive plans here, and the property has multiple beachfront pools, a spa, kids' activities, a game room, and numerous other options. While some activities and the spa will cost extra, gratuities and fees are all included in quoted rates.
White Stallion Ranch
Tucson, Arizona, United States
Much like the Tanque Verde Ranch, the White Stallion Ranch -- set on 3,000 acres between Phoenix and Tucson -- offers travelers a glimpse of traditional life in the desert southwest. This family-oriented dude ranch has 41 rooms that have a polished rustic look. Family-run for 50 years, the White Stallion feels like a movie set, with desert, mountains, enormous saguaro cacti, and genuine cowboys filling its grounds. Activities include horseback riding, rodeo skills, rock climbing, and hiking for all ages and skill levels. The ranch has an authentic Western feel, from the family-style dining room to the rustic-luxe cabins. All-inclusive rates -- known as the Full American Plan -- include three meals and all-day snacks. However, note than some activities and all alcohol will cost extra.
High Hampton Resort

While it isn't for everyone, travelers looking to focus squarely on getting back to nature (and who don't need the latest in high-end tech) will do well at the High Hampton Inn & Country Club. Set on 1,400 acres of foothills, the setting includes a private lake and a golf course plus 116 rustic rooms, 17 cottages, and 35 vacation homes. It’s a great place for families to unplug, since rooms don’t have phones or TVs (but they do have Wi-Fi), and there are plenty of nature-related activities for the family including canoeing, hiking, and swimming. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in rates, and you'll need to abide by some dress codes during dining hours.
The Lodge at Woodloch
Hawley, Pennsylvania, United States
Deep in the Poconos, The Lodge at Woodloch is an upscale adult-only retreat whose spa aesthetic feels miles away from the area's infamous gaudy honeymoon suites and heart-shaped hot tubs. With its classic style plus acres of woodland, a private lake, and an adjacent golf club, the resort packs in a lot. But it's the dining that receives the strongest marks, with farm-to-table fare that includes certain items that are sourced from The Lodge at Woodloch's own garden. Meals are included with your stay, and all-inclusive rates also include group fitness classes and lectures, guided group excursions, and chef's cooking demonstrations. It's a great place to unwind for a spa vacation as well, though treatments will cost extra (as will drinks). Note that all gratuities are included and cell phone use is prohibited in many public areas at The Lodge at Woodloch
Westglow Resort & Spa
Blowing Rock, North Carolina, United States
Westglow Resort & Spa is a historic property with an elegant, old-fashioned atmosphere. This nine-unit, 42-acre estate is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and offers a holistic spa, an indoor pool with a hot tub, a spacious fitness center with yoga classes and morning walks. In order to get the most bang for your buck, opt for the all-inclusive packages, which include meals and spa treatments. In fact, a major highlight here is Rowland's, the hotel's popular fine-dining restaurant. It has an extensive wine list including rare North Carolina selections (but you'll have to pay extra for wine). The Westglow Resort & Spa makes a great home base for travelers who like to balance outdoor action with relaxing, pampering extras in a serene mountain setting.
